Just another update!

Since the age of 18, I always wanted to learn how to drive a standard. Well opportunity came knocking when my husband received one from a friend two years ago. Now you have to understand that during these past two years, I have constantly asked and even at times begged my husband to teach me. But to no avail, he always made an excuse as to why we couldn't go out and learn,

So since he was gone for a week, and took the only vehicle I could drive, I asked a friend to assist me in the matter. All I can say it was an experience I will not soon forget. We drove out of town to a very large parking lot and basically told me this is how you work a standard, and now get into the driver's seat. It took me about ten minutes to figure out the gears and how not to stall and most importantly, the break was my friend.

Thank goodness there was no one around to see my first lesson. My poor friend, her neck must have been sore. We did take the baby out for a spin and didn't do too bad with the driving on the highway, but going in reverse and practicing going up a hill from a stand still was another matter. I freaked everytime I rolled a bit backwards and would step on the gas and forget to let go of the clutch. The roaring of the engine, well, let's just say, I definately scared away the wildlife.

Have I driven the babe since? Nope too chicken. I think I need just a little more time before I try again.

Other than this new experience, it has been a wonderful week. Easter was a lot of fun. We started out by having a huge pancake breakfast at our church, and then afterwards a baptisimal service. My two older rug rats got baptised by their father. It was a very beautiful site to see. I bawled my eyes out while trying to take pictures. Other than this I have been trying, and having succeeded, collected all my Easter Eggs on AI, not just once, but twice. It helps when you have clues.

Well that's it for today

:)

Alone Time!

What can say? How often do you get alone time. For myself, not very often. I am either out working my full time job, or taking care of my kids, husband, and house. Alone time is spending a whole 10 minutes in a bubble bath before the youngest, who is 5, decides she needs a bath too, because she is stinky ;0). LOL. Or enjoying a cup of Jo in the morning before I have to get everyone else up for school and so forth.

I am, what I consider, a bachalorette for one week. This means, I still go to work, but I can sleep in, eat what I really like, and do whatever I like without having a conflict with my husband's schedule or taking the kids somewhere for an activity outside of school time.

Am I truly enjoying myself? Yes and no. As much as it is nice, I have to admit I do miss the hugs and kisses I get from my family, and I even miss the bickering between the two older ones, well, hmmm, maybe not that much on that one. The house is quiet and I have music blaring to fill in the noise that usually would be here.

I love my alone time, in very small chunks, but I would rather have the craziness of family life surround me. It is what makes me whole.

Now my husband surviving a road trip with three kids, that is story for another day!

csd :)
